Welcome to i.CanDrawIt® graphical programming
for Building Automation and Facility Management.

Once you have placed some function blocks, it is time to start connecting them. Select the wire tool shown here. To start the wire, move the mouse over one end of the connection to be made. As you move the mouse over a point that can be connected, it will be highlighted with a circle. Left-click the mouse once to start the wire. Move the mouse toward the destination (you do not need to hold the mouse button down).

When you reach the other end of your connection, Left-click the mouse again. The wire will be completed. To stop placing wires, press the Escape key on the keyboard or Right-click the mouse.

You will often need to make a few jogs in the wire as illustrated below. Start the wire by left-clicking the mouse. At each point where you want to create a corner in the wire, Left-click again. Continue left-clicking for each corner until you reach the final destination. Left-click one last time to complete the wire.

Wires that are "pending" will appear in red, while a completed wire or portion of wire will appear in blue.

When you want to connect multiple inputs to a single output in a drawing, you need to create a junction. The junctions are by default configured to be placed automatically. Any time you are using the wire tool, if you place the mouse over an existing wire, the junction symbol will appear as illustrated below.

To start drawing a wire from the point of the junction, Left-click the mouse and begin drawing. Left-click again when you reach the other end of the connection.

There is a junction icon in the tool bar as shown here. If you click it, you will get the notification that junctions are configured to be placed automatically, unless you have configured otherwise (and there is no reason to do so).
